Philip Kindred Dick
(1928-1982)

Philip Kindred Dick, one of the most influential American SF writers of the twentieth century, published over forty novels in his lifetime, including such classics as The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch (1965), Ubik (1969), and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (1968), which inspired the 1982 movie Blade Runner.

I Hope I Shall Arrive Soon (1985), his last, posthumously published collection of short stories, shows him moving beyond the more straightforwardly SF themes of his earlier fiction into more personal and confessional territory.
